Mental health is often ignored. Many people do not even consider that depression, feeling sad and lost, suicidal can be a medical problem and hence there is no proper treatment and help available to most of the people. The worst thing one can do in mental health issues is staying shut. This article deals with the ways in which mental health issues should be tackled.
- Talk to a counsellor. It helps when you open up and share your problems to a friend or to a counsellor. It helps in untangling your thought.

- Talk to your child. Be a friend to your child so that they can feel comfortable discussing any problems with you. This needs to be done from very start.

- Hug your child often and mandatorily when they feel low. Make sure they feel safe and treat you as a safe place. Most of the adult either live their childhood in their adulthood or spend their adulthood in healing a broken childhood. Make sure your child doesn’t have to do the later.

- Listen to a good song or read a good book. Books and Music often heal in mysterious ways and have saved so many souls.

- Take Professional help if you don’t have any one to help.

- Do not have low self esteem. You are beautiful the way you are and you do not need certification of anyone. Believe in the goodness of yourself.

- Do Yoga and Meditation. It helps you in connecting with your inner self and brings peace within. It has many heath benefits and helps in fighting mental health issues.

- Be a good father to your children. Hug them often, talk to them and try to be more available. Ask about their day and take a genuine interest in their life.

- Be a good friend and offer your hand to your friend in need. Give your friend your time and attention. You don’t know whom you might be saving through your little effort .

- Take care of your mental health. You need to read good books, listen to good music, watch some good shows, go close to nature and spend quality times with family. This will ensure that your mental health is taken care of.

- Have a healthy group of people. Make sure you have real friends and not fake friends. It is really difficult to find a friend who actually thinks about your best interests. If you have got one, invest in that friendship. This will save you in some of the difficult phases of your life.

- Forgive yourself. You are just a human being and you cannot take care of everything. Mistakes happen, but you know that you are a good person. You need to love yourself first and this starts with forgiving yourself first.

- Connect with your spouse. Marriage is a beautiful place to be. Once you have developed that deep bonding with your partner, life would not seem so difficult.

- You are your priority. Remember the best friend you can get to tackle any situation is you, yourself. So prioritize yourself now and then. Take time out for yourself and nourish your hobbies, interests and creative pursuits.

- Sometimes it might be difficult to talk to your partner. They might be really stressed or not in right brain space to share their problem. They might hurt you for approaching them constantly. You need to be patient in such scenarios and remember that they are in pain and need your help. This will not be a permanent thing.

- If you have that one best friend from school or college whom you used to share and hangout with, and if you are still best friend; don’t let them go. They can be some of the best medicines God has given in fighting any situation.
