Doubt

As Rohan stood at the altar, staring at the woman he was about to marry, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread wash over him. He had always thought that this was what he wanted, had always thought that this was the right thing to do. But now, as he stood there, he wasn’t so sure.

He loved her, he really did. But he wasn’t in love with her, not the way he had always imagined he would be with his future wife. He didn’t have that spark, that fire, that overwhelming sense of joy and contentment. He didn’t feel like she was his soulmate.

“I can’t do this,” Rohan thought to himself, his heart racing. “I can’t go through with this. I can’t marry someone I don’t love. I can’t spend the rest of my life with someone who isn’t my soulmate.”

But it was too late to back out now. The ceremony was about to start, and all eyes were on him. He couldn’t disappoint her, couldn’t disappoint his family. He couldn’t bear the thought of causing any more pain.

So he took a deep breath and tried to push his doubts to the back of his mind. He tried to tell himself that this was the right thing to do, that this was what he wanted. But as he said his vows, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was making a huge mistake.
